Introduction

  • Red Ghost Soryun is one of the floor boss in The Oculus: The Sanctum of Resurrection
  • Note that this page outlines the new mechanic for this boss in Oculus Normal Mode.
  • For mechanics in Hard Mode, visit this Red Ghost Soryun page.
  • Hp: 2200b
  • Groggy: Falling Stars / 10 sec
  • Soryun also has alternate versions depend on if skip Lone Roseberry and/or Hellcat Louise (the corresponding one will show up). If you skipped both, it’ll be random.
Standard Soryun
Exploding Specters Pattern
  • Soryun creates a small fork of purple waves which explode.
  • After exploding, specters will appear and track the players for a short distance.
  • If you get hit by one it’s likely that you’ll get hit by more and you’ll probably die.

Crimson Slash Pattern
  • Soryun begins charging and a massive red area appears.
  • She’ll pull you in while inside the area, and then will do a slash that hits all players in it.
  • Attack and dmg her to make the area smaller.

Crimson Swamps Pattern
  • Soryun creates multiple red swamps on the floor.
  • If you touch them you’ll get held and she’ll attack you. If any player touches a swamp the attack ends.

Full Moon Pattern
  • Soryun puts a marker on a player. She’ll begin charging, facing the player with the marker.
  • She’ll then use an attack that hits an enormous area in the direction she’s facing.
  • The rest of the party can run behind her back, the target player can either run as far as they can or use leap and jump at the right timing.

Main Groggy Pattern: Falling Stars
  • Soryun knocks all players back and creates a fountain of specters in the center.
  • A player will be targeted by a large marker and a specter will fall on the player, dealing minor dmg.
  • Immediately another player will be marked with a small marker and another specter will fall and deal minor dmg.
  • The players have to hit Soryun with 3 of the small marker specters (similar to Alexandra in prey).
  • Hitting her with the first (big marker) specter will make her immobile for a moment, but does not affect the pattern. Groggy if you succeed, if you fail she’ll drop numerous specters all across the room.
  • TIP: You only have a small window between the big and small specter drop, so make sure everyone stay closer to Soryun.

Strategy
  • Most of her patterns are designed in a way that it’s not hard if you’re paying attention.
  • Her attacks don’t hurt as much as Lone Roseberry and she doesn’t move around as much as Hellcat Louise, so you can try and just kill her without seeing groggy.

Alternate Soryun: Hellcat Louise
Poison Orbs Pattern
  • Several of her patterns release purple orbs that hold players if they touch them.
  • Other players can pick up the trapped player and move them out of harm’s way

Poison Release Pattern
  • Soryun launches poison orbs above and below her while firing a hand-shaped poison wave in front of her. Just stay out of the way.

Poison Track Pattern
  • Soryun targets a player and chases them while leaving a track of poison.
  • You’ll get held if you touch her, and then she blows up the poison track.
  • Has priority on players trapped in poison orb so if you’re free try to save them.

Poison Leap Pattern
  • Soryun covers herself in poison and jumps, landing with a poison explosion that drops poison orbs all around. Repeats once.
  • Stay away then get near her to avoid the raining orbs.

Poison Overload Pattern
  • Soryun knocks all players down then starts raining poison orbs all over the room except near herself.

  • She then knocks the players again then causes an explosion around her.

  • After the first knockdown, get near her and then use Quick Rebound.png or quickly move away to avoid the explosion.

Massive Poison Release Pattern
  • Soryun kneels at the center of the room and releases a ring of poison orbs around her.
  • The orbs then fly outward, come back, then fly back into Soryun.
  • Players must first jump above them and get near Soryun, then jump to get out again.

Strategy
  • The hardest boss of this dungeon. She hits wide, hard, and even holds you with some attacks.
  • You’ll need to keep an eye on who gets trapped and save them as well.
  • She doesn’t even have a groggy, but a lot of her attacks leave her vulnerable for a short moment (~5 sec) after. Try to use these moments to your advantage.

Alternate Soryun: Lone Roseberry
Dimensional Gates Pattern
  • 6 portals appear in the room and a blue circle will appear on the portal next to where Soryun’s standing.
  • Players cannot approach her directly. The portals are all connected, you have to find the portal that connects to the one where she is.
  • Eventually she’ll use a massive slashing attack that hits the whole room except for the blue area she’s in.
  • In the example below, the portal that lead to Soryun is the 3rd one (top right).

Dimensional Chase Pattern
  • Soryun begins charging and 4 portals appear, one on each corner.
  • A player will also be marked with a big red circle. Soryun will soon charge towards the marked player and slam the ground, creating an area of red portals that cause damage if you step on.
  • The player with the marker must go through any blue portal and the marker will stay on the portal instead. This pattern repeats once.

Crimson Dimension Pattern
  • Soryun kneels at the center of the room and most of the room is covered in red portals.
  • If a player steps in any one of them, they’ll be dropped from the ceiling and deal dmg in an area including themself.
  • Soryun continuously pushes the players away from her, and eventually she’ll use a shockwave that knocks everyone back. Stay as close as possible to her.

Dimensional Drop Pattern
  • Soryun creates a blue portal and Soryun jumps in.
  • She then drops down and deals fatal dmg across the entire room.
  • Players can enter the portal about 1 second after she enters to dodge the attack and drop on her, causing groggy.
  • In the example below, one player didn't enter the portal, thus got KO.

Strategy
  • This version’s patterns come out at random, and a lot of her patterns need players doing something at a specific timing.
  • There’s not much else to that however, so learn the pattern and pay attention and she’s not a whole lot harder compared to other bosses.
