  • Bakal has 2 phases. Phase 1 he fights in human form. Phase 2 he fights in dragon form. Each form will have their specific pattern. Although there are some common pattern between the 2 forms.
  • If you successfully destroy some of Bakal's patterns, you will get a buff that increases damage by 135% for 60 seconds. On the other hand, burn resistance -25% debuff if you fail to destroy or use a coin to revive.
Common Pattern
Meteor Pattern
  • Periodically 2 of party member will have a fire orb above them and the fire circle underneath. If you have this mark, whichever map you're on will have a meteor hit it and will cause the whole room to fill with fire for about 20 second.
  • On the minimap, you will see which map have these fire from meteor by its red indicator. In the example below, the player run to the corner of the map to drop the meteor (which is a great choice because you would never want to drop in the middle map where bakal is).

  • NOTE: Do NOT drop 2 meteors in the same room at the same time, this will give every party member -50% fire resistance debuff. This debuff stacks and last until the party retreat from Bakal. So it's a good idea to drop the meteor in separate places (the 4 corners are good starting place)..
Dragon Brand Pattern
(Buff applied upon successful)
  • Bakal summons some symbols around the map and above party member. When his cast bar is done, Bakal teleport everyone to his location and do room wide damage.
  • To dodge this, you need to find your symbol and stay there. When the cast bar is done, the symbol will give you nen guard so you can dodge bakal damage.
  • NOTE: If you have the meteor mark, drop the meteor elsewhere because it can destroy the symbol. You can see in the example below, the player drop the meteor first then run to his map.

  • In phase 2, you won't know where the symbols are. The map will have "?" on them, so you will have to find those symbol. Even if you found the symbol that's not our own, it will show up on the map. Note here is that you have to bring the symbols back to Bakal.

Phase 1
Dragon Soul Pattern
(Buff applied upon successful)
  • Bakal put on a cast bar with number of stacks on top of it. Your job is to go around the mob and kill various mobs (indicate as "!" on the minimap) then collect their souls. Reduce all stacks will complete pattern.
  • NOTE: If you have the meteor pattern, do NOT drop the meteor on the map with mob.

Dragon Arena Pattern
(Groggy Pattern)
  • You will see a bloody sword on the ground, whoever step on it will be teleported and fight 1vs.1 with Bakal while receiving 130% damage increase. You will see a casting bar and a stack counter. When this stack hit 100 before cast bar is done, pattern fail.
  • In order to slow down the stack counter, everyone not fighting 1:1 with Bakal need to go around and kill mob and absorb their soul. Since your goal is to slow down the counter, it's recommented that Buffer to into the portal and fighter Bakal, DPS go around and kill mobs.

  • When cast bar is at half way, you will see 2 other bloody swords on the map, go there and continue to absorb the souls.

Flame of Fire Pattern
(Buff applied upon successful)
  • 2 party members will have Meteor Pattern mark on them. Only these member can go outside of Bakal map. After dropping off the meteor, go to the "!" map, you will see red orb and red dragon crest. Your job is to pair up and take turn guiding the orb to the crest. Complete this 2 times will clear pattern.
  • Player 1 hit the orb, guide it, then player 2 hit orb, guide it. Every time you hit the orb, you will have meteor mark on you again, this will drop 4 small meteors on your location and leave fire remnant. If the orb hit any fire remnant, it reset and you have to redo (So it's a good idea to guide the small meteors away from the orb's path).

Flame of Karma Pattern
(Groggy Pattern)
  • He will spawn 12 orbs through out the 8 maps around Bakal map. These map can have anywhere from 0 to 4 orbs. One member at a time will have 3 little fire orbs above them. Only this member can go around and pick up the 12 orbs.
  • Once you picked up your 3rd orbs, you will be frozen. Back in Bakal map, another member will get the same 3 little orbs above them. Their job now is to tag you out and continue to pick up the 12 orbs. Picking up all 12 orbs before time out will finish gimmick. EZPZ.

  • The caveat here is that when you picked up our 3rd orb, if there are any orb left on that map, pattern fail immediately. So you need to make sure your 3rd orb is always the last orb on that map. In the illustration below, I will show you 4 fail examples, and 1 successful example.

Phase 2
Kidnap Pattern
  • Bakal drags a user to the corner of the map (map 1/3/5/7 o'clock). The rest of the party can attack Bakal to free the captured user. There is a gauge under the Bakal, and when you attack, the gauge fills up. If not rescued in time, the caught party member will die.

    Breath of Fire Pattern
    (Buff applied upon successful attack)
    • Bakal leaves the battlefield and casts a breath on the entire map for 10 seconds. This is an easy dodge-the-red-area pattern. When the breath ends, Bakal come back and gives a 135% damage increase buff.

    Sharpened Blade Pattern
    (Buff applied upon successful attack)
    • A gauge is created for all party members, and if you fill up the gauge by attacking Bakal, you get a 60% damage increase and a cooldown reset buff for all skills except Awakening.

    • At this time, Bakal uses a ground slam pattern from time to time (indicated by blue cast bar), so jump appropriately to avoid it.

    • When the red cast bar is full, Bakal moves to the center and creates huge waves of flame on both sides. To avoid the flames, go out of the map to 6 o'clock if they went to the left, or to 12 o'clock if they went to the right, and kill the mobs in the last room. Get the 65% damage increase buff and return to the place where Bakal is located.

Rule of the Dragon King Pattern
    (Buff applied upon successful attack)
    • As an enhancement form of the Dragon Arena Pattern in phase 1, when a sword is created in the center as in the dragon's arena pattern, one party member enters the sword's realm and engages Bakal in a one-on-one duel. Unlike the dragon's arena pattern, the rest of the party members are not forcibly sent to another room and they can stay with the party member dueling Bakal.
    • Small meteor drops periodically targeting the rest of the party, and members have to move around the edge so the meteorites don't damage party members who enter the area.

    • If the party member who entered the area during the time limit succeeds in holding out, a Nen Guard is created at the party member's location to block Bakal's room wide attack. After that, you will receive a 135% damage increase buff.

    • If a party member who entered the area dies or goes out of the circle for a certain amount of time, it is considered a pattern failure and the entire Nen guard is not created, so the entire party is wiped out, so be sure to focus on survival. The better the super armor and holding power, the better it is to hold on, so it is better to leave it to the Archon user, otherwise have a buffer in there.
Power of the Dragon King Pattern
    (Groggy Pattern)
    • Nine patterns appear in the center of the screen, and each party member has one of them displayed above their head. In addition, nine identical emblems are displayed on the map.
    • During the 60-second time limit, the party members must check the pattern in the center of the screen and the pattern displayed on them, move to the map with the matching pattern in order, and attack the pattern. When you hit a pattern, you get a +30% movement speed buff and the next pattern you hit is displayed above your head. If you successfully hit all 9 patterns in order within the time limit, Bakal enters groggy.

    • If you hit the wrong pattern, you have to do it again from the beginning, and when the time limit is over, a meteor with instant death damage will fly to the map, and you can't survive unless you have Black Forest Brier or Irene's invincible buff.
    • In addition to the total time limit of 60 seconds, there is a time limit of 4 seconds for each pattern, and after this time limit, you have to hit again from the beginning, so if you hit the pattern right away when it's your turn, it becomes difficult for the next party member to move to the map with the pattern. Therefore, you must hit the pattern right before your time runs out and move quickly to the next map with your own pattern after hitting.
    • Also, since the order is set for each party member, you can destroy it much more easily if you memorize it. However, one thing to be aware of is that if you die in the middle of a pattern and resurrect with a coin, the order of the pattern will change, so you must pay attention to your HP as well.
    • As an aside, these patterns symbolize the body of Bakal. Wings above the left and right diagonals, horns in the upper center, hands in the center left and right, heart in the center, claws in the lower left and right, and symbol tail in the lower center. It symbolizes Bakal's body so you can easily memorize it.
