DFOArchive: Verias the Doom

Introduction

Verias is 1 of 3 Dark Knights in Black Purgatory dungeon.
You will face Verias if you take Dark Knight routes, you may find him in Destroyed Village or APC rescue if he intrude.

Spin Pattern

Suction Pattern

He jumps to the middle and starts sucking everything in.
You will also see dark flames being sucked in as well. Touching the flames will trap you.
After sucking everything in, he jumps again and do AoE in the middle (you will see the red circle indicating the damage area).
After this AoE, the area outside of the red circle explode.
So to dodge, make sure not to touch the flames, stay outside the circle, THEN run inside the circle.

Dark Ritual Pattern

He summons a circle of dark flames that spins clockwise (it looks very scary).
This is a counter pattern. The circle will shrink if you fail to counter attack him or if you counter attack when his eyes glow red.
Successful counter attacks ONLY when his eyes glow blue will expand the circle.
Do this enough times will break the circle and generate groggy.

Root of Doom Pattern

When the pattern starts, your job is to find and destroy 4 purple roots that locate randomly throughout the map.
The catch is those 4 roots are invisible. In order to reveal them, one player must touch the red orb on the map. Touching the orb will turn you into a spirit, and the root only reveal itself when the spirit get close to it.
Therefore the party must delegate 1 person to turn into spirit and his/her only job is to find the roots.
NOTE: ONLY destroy the purple roots, the yellow ones are decoy. Breaking yellow will cause AoE damage.

Strategy

There's not really any strategy to defeat Verias beside doing sustain damage. Although he has some short groggy for you to deal damage.
The dark ritual would be the most problematic one. Watch out his eye blue glow and attack.
