Creating a Character
Section 1.1: Choosing a Server
- First, you will be presented with a sever selection screen. DFO global has 2 server, Cain and Sirocco. Most players are on Cain. The servers are based on different location for connectivity. You can still interact with players in the other server (e.g. raids, party, guild). You can also mail things to the other server if you have multiple characters in both servers. In 2023, there's not much different between the 2.
- To create a character, simply select "Create" at the bottom of the screen, you will see lots of classes. Each class will have various sub-classes. Overall, there are over 60 different sub-class to choose from in this game.
- I highly recommend you go to dfoneople.com/gameinfo/character/all, they have classes trailer and playstyle there.
- Originally, all dfo classes are organized in 3 separate groups: DPS, Synergy, and Buffer. Similar to other MMORPG, DPS deals damage, Synergy deals less damage but amplify DPS's damage, and Buffer is your true support class, they heal, revive, increase party damage, health, etc.
- However, with the update of Feb 22, 2022, Synergy classes have been merged into DPS. When creating a character, you will see the designation of "D" for Dealer and "B" for buffer.
