  • Want to know how to extract in-game image to use it for content creation?
  • Want to know how people get those 3rd awakening cut-in?
  • This post will show you how to extract them
What's DnF Extractor & Where to Get It
  • It's a program that extract images from .npk files, depends on the file you extract, you can any images from character cut-in to environment background such as building (some examples below). The best part is that all these images are already on a transparent background.

  • You can download the program though this Mega Link. The file is hosted on my personal account and has been scanned for viruses with Window Defender before upload. However, for the sake of safety, please scan it yourself.
How to Extract Them Images
  • IMPORTANT: Before extracting any file, it's best if you close out the game. Sometime if the file is being used while the game is opened, you will get error messages. Either close the game or you can make a copy of that file and open it elsewhere.
  • The in-game images are located in .npk files within the "ImagePacks2" folder in the place where you install your DFO game. The default folder is usually "C:\Neople\DFO"
  • This program also has lots of function that can be used for making mods as well, but for this article, I will only go over the simple function.
  • The first (1) orange bottom is the "Open" function, use this to open the file you want to extract (2). The program will then show you a list of extractable images within that .npk file (3). Note that you can also drag the file in there too.
  • The 2nd orange bottom (1) is where you can pick the location (2) on your computer for your extracted images. I usually just make a new folder on my desktop for them. After picking that location, click the save bottom (3).
  • After you did all that, the extracting is extremely simple.
    • (1) First, select the file you want to extract. In this example, file I selected is "sprite_character_swordman_effect_cutin.NPK", which contain all cut-in images for slayer classes  male and  female. As you can see, this file has 3A cut-in, buff cut-in, and even 2A cut-in as well.
    • (2) After selecting the file you want, this box contain all the extractable images.
    • (3) Right click on the file and this option is for extracting that one image. The option (4) is the "extract all" function.
  • Then you just go to the folder that you picked in the beginning, the images will be on there. That's it, super simple.

What to Do with These Images
  • There are countless function for them, since they already on a transparent background, you can use them for any videos, artworks, streaming content creation. Really, the limit is your imagination.
  • Below is an example of using Male Grappler 3A cut-in as transition stinger for streaming on Twitch. Check out these examples too: Elemental BomberMale SpitfireVagabondDemon Slayer.

  1. Wow this is really useful. I see that when I right click on the file to extract, there is an option that mentions gif? Is there a way to extract gifs?

    1. You can use this program to make gif from the game images. I made a quick instruction in the imgur link below. Note that this function works best for game sprites. If you use this for 3A scene cut-in, the transparent background doesn't work as well.

    1. Could you give me a screenshot? don't think I have seen that before. You shouldn't download any additional file.

    2. Well im trying to open this file called "cg.npk" to get the cg content but this game also has files like "sound.npk", "font.npk", "script.npk", "system.npk", "dx.npk", "voice.npk" and "_base.npk" and they do not work. I followed the guide carefully and i have the game closed so its not a known issue and to make matters worse there is rarely any tutorial of modding this games internal npk files
