Black Shrine and Basement of Pain: Result of 1,000 Dungeon Runs

• Ever wonder why everyone tells you to do your daily 2+2 dungeons?
• Are you curious how much progression you can make with your characters?
• How about drop rate and how many epics can you expect to drop from these dungeon?
• This article will show you the result of 250 daily 2+2 runs.

Procedure & Data

• In case you didn't know, 2+2 means 2 Black Shrine and 2 Basement of Pain dungeon runs. Both have special rewards through card flip at at the end for the first 2 runs. So 250 total 2+2 runs is 1,000 dungeon clears.
• The procedure was very simple, I ran 2+2 on multiple alts and record their     drops. I didn't record any gold drops or gold from selling equipment. I also bought all from Gabriel and didn't pick any purple special reward cards.
• In the data below, for the sake of data presentation, each group is a combined result of 25 data points, and each data point is the result of 2 Black Shrine and 2 Basement of Pain runs. For complete information of all data points, you can visit this PDF file.
• The "Total Raw Gold" is the price of all tradable stuffs (e.g. ). Prices used: 48,500  and 7,397 .

Discussion

• How much progression can you get from doing 2+2?
• With level 100 cap, progression is quite simple actually. Since you can upgrade level 95 Fiend War and Prey slots in to level 100 epics, you really only need 4 good epic pieces to drop, 5 if you include weapon.
• Take my Female Spitfire for example, with her 4 drops, I can continue farming 2+2 for , then upgrade 3 pieces Mother Nature, 3 pieces Normal Syncho, and then ditto the last piece through Oculus dungeon. As for weapon, you can do pit 456 for RNG weapon pot, or if you really desperate, transfer the weapon if it drop from other alts.

• Neople has been giving out  and discount recipes through events, with just a couple months of farming, you can upgrade your equipment easily.
• Now can this strategy get you into Sirocco Red party? NO. But with optimization, you definitely have a chance for Green party.
• What's the expected drop rate?
• As you can see from the data, after 1,000 runs, I got 89 drops. So it's about 9% drop rate.
• Note that this is a combination of both gold flip and drop from killing the boss though. I can tell you that the drop from killing boss is even lower, I didn't keep track, but I can definitely count it on two hands. So the drop rate probably around 8.5-9%.
• So if you're lucky, maybe you can get that good 4 pieces and 1 usable weapon. Most of my weapon drops from Top 12 Progression page is from these 2 dungeons.
• Should you continue to farm 2+2 with characters that already 12/12?
• Yes, definitely yes,  can be converted into  if you need to transfer that last epic piece.
• Each epic transfer requires 125 , which is 12,500  (aka 12,500 ). If you're new here,  is not your bottleneck. Farming 126  for a weapon or 168  for a equipment is not that hard. It's getting 125  is the hard part.

• Therefore, keep farming these  so you can eventually funnel to gear up other characters. As a bonus, you get about 2 million gold for every 25 daily 2+2 runs, and that is not including the white drops you can sell to NPC. Gearing up alts, and cash on the side, 2 birds with 1 stone.
