Swap Set: The Essential Tool for Damage

  • Getting this set is one of the most fundamental step you can take to vastly increase your damage.
  • Here I simply explain this process so you can farm a set for yourself.
What's Buff Swap
  • This function unlocks at level 70. You can click on the "Buff Enhancement" book, then register your swap gear.
  • How Does It Work?
    • The swap set basically increases the level and stat of your buff skill (e.g. Overcharge.png).
    • Back in the old days before this UI, you would have to equip the swap set, go into dungeon, cast you buff skill, then swap back into your damage gears. This Swap UI will do all that work for you.
What Goes In the Swap UI?
---Equipment---
  • The first pieces to the swap set that anyone can get are the equipment slots. These items are highlighted below and come from Operation: Hope dungeon.
  • This dungeon can be found in Closed Area in Harlem. Each character can enter it 3 times per week.
  • While running the dungeon, be sure to follow the path with the quest scroll (circled in red) because it will lead to you the area needed to complete the internal quest. By doing so you can get more Abyss Fragment Abyss Fragment.png at the end.
  • Abyss Fragment.png can be used to buy swap set from NPC Ceberin. This is where you buy your weapon, armor, accessory, and special equipment pieces.
  • Weapon:
    • There are 2 versions: regular and "S" version. The regular can be upgraded to the "S" version, which give more stat. In the example below, the "S" version is about 4% stronger.
    • To upgrade the weapon, you can buy the recipe from Ceberin. This recipe gives you an RNG chance of upgrading to "S". Cost 20 Refined Terranium.png and 100 Abyss Fragment.png for each roll. Make sure you buy the correct recipe that matches your weapon type.
    • Each fail attempt will give one Black Abyss Fragment.png . Basically 10 Black Abyss Fragment.png will give guarantee "S" weapon using Conversion Scroll Ancient Legendary Conversion Scroll.png.
  • Armor and Accessory: Generic boxes   for all classes. When you open these boxes, the system will automatically select your class. So you don't have to worry about selecting the right one.
  • Special Equipment: This part is a bit more tricky. Here you have 3 options to pick  Encroached set,  Distorted set, and  Warped set. Encroached gives you +3 level but offer minimal stat, whereas Warped gives +1 level but offer maximal stat. And Distorted is kind of in the middle. So you need to pick which one based on your budget.
    •  gives the most skill level but doesn't give any skill stat. You save money not to buy other skill level such as platinum emblem, title.
    •  gives the least skill level but most skill stat. You will need spend money on buying skill title and platinum emblem.
    • What I recommend for new players is to pick Encroached set. Then as you get more in the end game and start to min-max, you can switch to Warped set.
---Title---
  • Titles come in many shapes and sizes. Most buff swap titles add levels to your skill through 2 ways. (1) It straight adds level to the skill itself. (2) It adds level from the level range.
  • In the example below, this is a swap title for Mistress, whose buff skill is called "Seven Deadly Sins". Because this buff skill is a level 20 skill, when a Mistress uses this title, it will add 3 levels to her buff skill.
  • These swap titles usually come from seasonal packages and can cost quite a bit a gold to obtain, especially the price different between +2 and +3 title. Depends on the class, +2 title can cost you about 30 million gold, and +3 title can cost up to 70~80 million.
  • One of the beginner package from the webstore comes with a +2 title that may worth your money. If you don't want to spend cash, I would recommend waiting for the price on the auction hall to drop and maybe you get lucky and get something cheap within your budget.
---Avatar---
  • This is where you can add up to 4 levels to the buff skill. 1 level from Rare Top, Rare Bottom, and Aura, with 1 level from the "Ability" section from Top avatar. Platinum emblems can be found in the Auction Hall and through Lost Treasure as Selective Platinum Emblem Box.
  • Top & Bottom Avatars: Rare avatars (clone or non-clone) have slot to add platinum emblem onto them.
  • Aura: Only specific auras have plat emblem slot. So watch out for sales and packages from Neople.
  • In the example below, each plat emblem add 1 level to Male Ranger buff skill, Death by Revolver. With +1 from the "Ability" option in the Rare Top avatar, this set will give +4 level.
---Creature---
  • Very similar to title, Pet can add level either straight up or through a skill level range. In the example below, Petite Ms. Black (left) adds level though level 15-35 range, whereas Petite Raven (right) adds level directly to the skill.
  • Again just like title, these pets often from from seasonal packages and sales, so watch out for them when they come around.
Example Using My Male Ranger
    • NOTE: The MAX level you can add for non-sader classes is +10.
    • Equipment  for armor and accessory,  warped set for special equipment,  "S" revolver.
    • Title: +2 from "Awakened Ones All-in-One Package" from the webstore.
    • Avatar: Rare top, bottom avatar with aura    and 3 plat emblems .
    • Creature Petit Raven.
    • Total: +10 skill levels
Do I Really Need Swap Set?
    • YES YES YES. Below is an example of 20-sec sandbag WITH swap set (57 Bil) vs. NO swap set (41 Bil).
    Exception to the Guide
    • Sader classes (Crusader, Seraph, Enchantress) are the exception. They don't use "Operation: Hope" gear and their max level to buff skill is +30 instead.
    • Generally speaking
      • Swap gear is the one that give most stat and level to buff skill (e.g.   )
      • Actual gear is the one that give most level to 1st Awakening skill (e.g.   )

    2. Thank you for this post, helps a lot for new player like me. I have question though. Is the rank of swap set affects the outcome? I just finished my swap set and most of them are at "ordinary" rank. Should I use Kaleido box to boost them?

      1. The rank does NOT affect the outcome. I usually don't reroll them to superior.
