Black Purgatory Daily Dungeons Simply Explained

  • The Black Purgatory update adds 4 new daily dungeons to your homework.
  • Here I summarize the layout of each dungeon, why I think Outskirts of Roschest is good for farming, and how can you farm it effectively.

General Info

  • What's special about these daily dungeons is that they don't normally take 8 FP to enter like other level 100 dungeon (e.g. Basement of Pain, Back Shrine). Here they follow the normal pattern like every other dungeon in DFO (i.e. 1 FP per room).
  • Below is the map of all 4 dungeons. As you can see, it will take 8 FP to rush to boss. Then they all have 4 extra rooms (highlighted in white).
  • The way these dungeons are designed is that there are specific mini-bosses and named champion in specific rooms.
Which Spawn Where

  • Beside the final boss, there are 3 other type that can spawn.
  • The Mini-boss: These ALWAYS spawns in the first intersection (room 4) of every map. They usually drop an Aiolite or Time Crystal.
    • For Outskirts map, they are 3 possible spawns, and we will talk about it in a bit.
    • For the other 3 maps, these mini-bosses are the Followers of the Dark Knights.
  • The Intruder: From what I've seen, these spawns about 2 rooms before the boss.
    • If you have played the real Black Purgatory dungeon, these are the boss guarding the crossroad (Jade, Onyx, Venta).
    • Killing these will drop a handful (~10)  and possibly .
  • The Fresh Blood (aka Chanpion monsters): These are the one that have the green name above them.
    • They only spawn in the "extra" rooms randomly (aka the one highlighted in white).
    • They drop handful of Aiolites and Time Crystals (really anywhere from 1~10 if not more). These will be your main source of income while farming.

How to Farm Effectively
  • I'll run some number in future post to compare between them and stormy.
  • Anyway, beside doing your normal daily clears for the special gold card flips, Outskirts of Roschest will be the best place for you to farm on, for a few reasons:
    • The bosses there are a lot easier to kill, their patterns are not as pain in the ass.
    • It's the only dungeon where you can predict the location the mini-boss, intruder, and the fresh blood, therefore you can spent FP more efficiently.
  • When you're at the first intersection (room 4), the boss you fighter there will determine the possible location of other Fresh Blood and whether you will have an Intruder.
    • In the explanation below, the marked rooms are possible locations of Fresh Blood mob. The Red Mark is the direct indicator of Intruder present.

  • If Onyx Black: Proceed downward!
    • If you see a Fresh Blood in the Red Mark room, that mean you're guarantee to have an Intruder. So kill the Fresh Blood for your batch of Aiolite.png / Time Crystal (Material).pngThen go back and rush to boss, killing the Intruder on the way and get your extra .
    • If you DON'T see a Fresh Blood in the Red Mark room, that mean you won't have an Intruder (bummer). The next location of Fresh Blood will be one room over (Green Mark). So go there for your batch of Aiolite.png / Time Crystal (Material).png, then go back and rush to boss.
  • If Venta: Proceed straight! forward the Orange Mark.
    • That's the only place you will find Fresh Blood. There's no indicator of whether you get Intruder. So clear for your batch of Aiolite.png / Time Crystal (Material).png and rush to boss.
  • If Jade: Proceed straight! to Green Mark instead of going down to Red Mark. Why?
    • If you go to Red Mark first and you don't see a a Fresh Blood (wasted 1 FP), you will need go to next room Green Mark. Whereas if you find a Fresh Blood right at Green Mark, you can just back track and rush to boss.
    • So when you get to the Green Mark and nothing there, go to Red Mark, kill the Fresh Blood for your batch of Aiolite.png / Time Crystal (Material).pngThen go back and rush to boss, killing the Intruder on the way and get your extra .

  1. Whats the gear requirement for this new dungeon? If full 5+5 legendary equip can run it?

    1. -I do not recommend running these dungeons with just level 100 legendary. The bosses there hit very hard and lots of their patterns will one shot you. I highly recommend you being sirocco green party ready to clear these comfortably (i.e. full epic with good optimization).
-Some of my alts that are full epic but not optimized enough to do Sirocco raid were able to clear, but took me about 2 mins per dungeon and die a few times here and there.
